@Angle What makes you think Africans aren't that different from us? I can tell you the culture in a few African "countries" that I know of is radically different from the European-born Western culture. Again, they were doing just fine until Europeans coerced them into embracing the Western way of living which, not coincidentally, is really hard to establish in part due to geographical reasons.So Europeans brought in problems Africans never had and now Europeans are judging these problems hard to solve given the specificity of the African geography. 🤷♂️ -

@Angle @mpjgregoire I concur with this, I recently saw a thread on Twitter where a start-up CEO (!) performed a superficial geographical analysis of Western Europe with regards to the rise and fall of the Roman Empire and the creation of modern European nations. It sounded straightforward but it was riddled with inaccuracies that blew apart the conclusion they were trying to get at. -

@Angle You see my point? Africa isn't just a slightly bigger Europe. This isn't Sid Meier's Civilization where you're locked in a unique development way. Of course white people have trouble grasping with that fact.Again "putting one's country together" isn't neutral. African nations were doing just fine before they got colonized and exploited at gunpoint. The very concept of country was imported by Europeans who left Africa with meaningless or even nonsensical borders. -
